Changchun International Auto Park

Situated in the core area of the Automobile Economic and Technological Development Zone and next to Xihu Avenue, Changchun International Auto Park spans a planned area of 1 million square meters. It is designed in the shape of an ancient coin, forming a rectangle that extends from east to west along both sides of the Yongchun River and reaches north and south. The park has a landscaped area of 583,000 square meters with over 50,000 plants of 101 species, as well as a water area of 150,000 square meters. The first phase of the park opened to visitors on September 29, 2010. It is a large-scale cultural theme park integrating ecological gardens, river wetlands, auto culture landscapes, and cultural performance venues, making it the largest leisure and entertainment space in the southwestern part of Changchun.

[Highlights of the Scenic Area]

Prominent Auto Theme. The overall landscape layout of the park showcases a typical style of modern European gardens. Centered around the past, present, and future of automotive development, the park is planned with “Three Streets and Six Zones.” These areas are interconnected by seven distinctive scenic bridges spanning the water bodies, creating a cohesive whole. The “Three Streets” refer to the International Auto Culture Street, China Auto Culture Street, and Auto Celebrities Street, while the “Six Zones” include the Auto Brand Exhibition Zone, Auto Museum Zone, Western Cultural Leisure Zone, Eastern Cultural Leisure Zone, Business Service Zone, and Central Zone. The combination of zones and streets highlights auto culture.

Sculpture Exhibitions. Displaying auto culture through sculptures is a major highlight of the park. In 2010, the 11th Changchun International Sculpture Exhibition and the 1st Changchun International Auto Park Auto Art Cultural Invitation Exhibition were successfully held here, serving as a meaningful attempt to explore and enrich the cultural essence of automobiles. Through 57 auto culture landscape sculptures of various materials, sizes, and forms, as well as ground car silhouette pavement art and other modern sculptural techniques, the park communicates auto culture to visitors, showcasing the unique charm of a garden that embodies automotive history and looks forward to future development.

[Functions and Roles]

Changchun International Auto Park is a cultural leisure park themed around automobile culture. Its completion fills a gap in Changchun for platforms dedicated to auto culture dissemination and has become a new iconic landmark and city business card. The auto park plans to further develop displays of actual vehicles, auto parts and accessories, eco-friendly and new technology vehicles, as well as entertaining, interactive, and participatory exhibitions. These additions will further promote auto culture, establishing the park as a hub for creative auto culture research and exhibition, and another must-visit attraction for tourists coming to Changchun.

Since its launch in October 2010, the first phase of the auto park has hosted three editions of the Changchun Auto Festival performances, as well as major public events such as FAW-Volkswagen’s 20th Anniversary Celebration, FAW Group staff matchmaking events, FAW Group employee group weddings, and the Changchun Citizens’ Autumn Visit to New Attractions. It has become an ideal place for citizens to relax and exercise.
