Jilin Nong'an Taipingchi National Wetland Park is a national-level wetland park.

Nong'an Taipingchi National Wetland Park is a wetland park pilot site approved by the State Forestry Administration in 2014. The park is located at the junction of Longwang Township, Sanggan Town, Shaoguo Town in the southwest of Nong'an County, northwest of Changchun City, Jilin Province, and Huaidian Town of Gongzhuling City. It extends from Wengke Village in Longwang Township in the north, borders Shaoguo Town to the southeast, touches Sanggan Town to the west, and neighbors Huaidian Town of Gongzhuling City to the southwest. It lies 22 km south of downtown Changchun and 65 km north of Nong'an County. The park includes the Taipingchi Reservoir, parts of Wengke Village and Taiping Village in Longwang Township. Its geographical coordinates are longitude 124°52′24″ to 124°58′45″ and latitude 43°59′10″ to 44°04′47″. The maximum length of the park is 9.2 km, the maximum width is 8.5 km, and the total area is 4,275 hectares.

Taipingchi Wetland Park is a medium-sized artificial reservoir-lake wetland. The reservoir controls a catchment area of 913 km² for the Wengke River and diverts an area of 793.913 km² from the Xinkai River basin. The Xinkai River is a first-order tributary of the Yitong River, originating from Daheishan Mountain in Yitong County. It is 113 km long with a gradient of 1.0%, flowing through Yitong County, Gongzhuling City, downtown Changchun, and Nong'an County, before joining the Yitong River near Liangmaomen in the southern part of Nong'an County. Its multi-year average runoff is 44.5 million m³. The Wengke River, a major tributary of the Xinkai River and the main water source of the reservoir, originates from Liuyang Township in Gongzhuling City.

The wetland vegetation in Taipingchi Wetland Park features rich biodiversity, abundant widespread plant species, and a large proportion of hygrophytic and mesohygrophytic plants. Field survey statistics show that there are 191 species of wild plants in the park, belonging to 49 families and 126 genera. The animal community is mainly composed of aquatic fish and wetland fauna, with 198 species of wild vertebrates from 5 classes, 24 orders, and 52 families distributed across the park area.

The wetland vegetation within the park is lush, diverse, and of high quality, with herbaceous plant cover reaching around 70%. In early spring, as all things come back to life, grass and trees sprout and turn green, flowers bloom in vibrant colors, filling the air with sweet fragrance and refreshing scents — making it a perfect spot for spring outings. In midsummer, gentle breezes ripple through the green grasslands, with secluded paths, birdsong, floral aromas, and dancing bees and butterflies creating a lively, refreshing scene ideal for escaping the summer heat. In autumn, golden grasslands evoke a sense of harvest joy, resembling a golden oil painting that lifts the spirit and captivates the heart, making visitors linger. In winter, the landscape is draped in silvery white, with frost-covered trees adding enchanting charm to the vast fields, where occasional animal tracks spark imagination and a sense of wild adventure.

Starting in 2015, the Nong'an County Forestry Bureau has been advancing the construction of the wetland park in accordance with the "Jilin Nong'an Taipingchi National Wetland Park Master Plan." We believe that through the joint efforts of the entire society, Taipingchi National Wetland Park will become a comprehensive national wetland park integrating wetland ecological conservation, wetland resource utilization, science education, and leisure tourism.
