Ningjiang Forest Park

Ningjiang Forest Park, located on the right bank of the Second Songhua River, covers a total area of 25 square kilometers. It is a provincial-level forest park that combines natural landscapes, religious sites, and leisure vacationing. The park features unique forest scenery, with over 60 types of trees and herbaceous plants such as Changbai beauty pines, cultivated poplars, Scots pines, larches, sand willows, spruces, mountain chrysanthemums, and peonies, spread across hundreds of hectares. The Monument to Military-Civilian Sand Fixation and the Monument to Tian Fu, a nationally renowned forestry model worker, stand within the park. In addition, the park is mainly divided into five zones: the Ecological Sightseeing Area, the Religious Pilgrimage Area, the Forest Tourism & Resort Area, the Water Sports Area, and the Comprehensive Service Area. The Ecological Sightseeing Area is the Longhua Ecological Garden, covering 40 square meters and comprising eight major scenic zones: Red Leaf Zone, Rare Birds Garden, Hundred Trees Plaza, Flower Expo Garden, Sunset Plaza, Golden Sandy Beach, Waterside Sky, and China Stone Carvings. The Religious Pilgrimage Area centers around the century-old Longhua Temple, which is majestic and grand in scale. Its Great Buddha’s Hall, once completed, will become the largest of its kind in Asia.
