Riverside Park Scenic Area was established in the 1950s. To prevent wind erosion, stabilize sand, and protect the riverbank, a hundred-li corridor of poplar and willow trees was planted along the right bank of the Songhua River. In 1986, the park gate, enclosing walls, and an artificial lake were constructed. The park was expanded in 1992 and became a public park. The park features a children’s play area, animal viewing zone, water recreation area, fitness area, and more. An annual garden party is held on Dragon Boat Festival. At dawn, crowds gather both inside and outside the park, along the bridge and on the river islands, creating a sea of people. In winter, the area becomes a silver wonderland, with unique rime ice and ice sculptures that captivate visitors, making it an ideal destination for leisure and entertainment.
