Longhua Temple Scenic Area

The Longhua Temple Scenic Area is located within the Ningjiang District Forest Park, covering an area of 60 hectares. The temple complex mainly consists of 48 structures, including the Mahavira Hall, the Heavenly King Hall, the Ksitigarbha Hall, the Bell and Drum Towers, the - Tower, the Scripture Depository, the Mountain Gate, the Lotus Pond, and the Temple Entrance Pagoda. The Mountain Gate, the later phases of the Mahavira Hall, the Heavenly King Hall, the Bell and Drum Towers, the Temple Entrance Pagoda, the East and West Side Halls, and the planting of over 400,000 varieties of flowers and trees, which were built in 2006, have seen an investment of 170 million yuan. Among them, the Mahavira Hall is built upon three progressively elevated platforms, with the base platform covering a total area of 13,700 square meters. All three platforms are designed to accommodate both residence and parking (capable of housing and feeding 3,000 people). Each platform is adorned with exquisitely carved white marble balustrades and panels. The main hall is modeled after the Hall of Supreme Harmony, with a single-building floor area of 10,000 square meters, making it the largest of its kind in Asia. In 2007, the construction of a 60,000-square-meter parking lot and the later phases of the scenic area were fully launched, aiming for the comprehensive completion of the Longhua Temple Scenic Area by September 29 to welcome visitors.
