The Songyuan Riverside Water Conservancy Scenic Area is a national-level water conservancy scenic area.

The Songyuan Riverside Water Conservancy Scenic Area is located within Songyuan’s urban area and is built around the Second Songhua River flood control project. Covering an area of approximately 37.35 square kilometers, including 8.13 square kilometers of water surface, it is classified as an urban river-lake type water conservancy scenic area.

The Second Songhua River Flood Control Project in Songyuan mainly focuses on rerouting embankments and integrating roads with dikes, designed to withstand a once-in-a-century flood. In recent years, the scenic area management authority has enforced laws governing river use, sand mining, water extraction, and soil removal, effectively protecting the water resources and environment of the river. The scenic area features diverse and lush vegetation on the riverine islets and wetlands, providing habitat for various protected species such as wild ducks and gulls. It is now a national 4A-level tourist attraction.
