Lishan

Wulanmutu Mountain in Bajiazi Township, Fumeng County, was formerly known as Alimatou Mountain. Both names are transliterations from Mongolian—the former means "Mountain of Red Trees," and the latter translates to "Mountain of Pears." The name Lishan (Pear Mountain) has a longer history.

The main peak of the mountain is called Guodi Mountain, with an elevation of 831.4 meters, making it the highest peak in Fuxin City. From the summit, whether looking up close or into the distance, the view is a series of beautiful landscapes. Up close, there are 18 distinct peaks rising abruptly, with steep cliffs and deep valleys. Each peak has a unique shape—some resemble towering city walls, others like skyscrapers, some are as precipitous as Huashan Mountain transplanted here, and others as majestic as Mount Tai moved to this spot. Old Man Mountain, Long Snake Mountain, and Tiger Head Mountain take on human or animal-like forms, crafted by nature in a way that is truly astounding. Looking south from the main peak, you can clearly see downtown Fuxin, Fumeng County, Xinqiu District, and Qinghemen District. Gazing northeast, the white sand dunes of the Horqin Sandy Land in Inner Mongolia look like snow. Looking around, the landscape unfolds with mountains, waters, forests, fields, villages, and farmhouses all in full view—a magnificent scene of beautiful rivers and mountains that lifts the spirit and refreshes the heart. In spring and summer, the land below is covered in lush green, with crisscrossing fields that look like a painted scroll or a chessboard. In autumn, the earth is adorned in gold and jade. If you’re lucky enough to encounter a sea of clouds, you’ll feel as if you’re above the clouds with the mountains nestled within them, as though you’ve stepped into a fairyland. Coming from the bustling city into this tranquil mountain setting is truly a rare and blissful experience.

This painting-like landscape of Lishan changes with the seasons and varies in color in every direction. Truly: “Spring has a hundred flowers, autumn the moon; summer brings cool breezes, winter snow.” To the east are green mountains, to the west rolling hills; to the south lie cities, to the north stretch sandy plains.

Bajiazi Town: Bajiazi Township is located in the northwest of Fumeng County. It borders Hadahushao Township and Jiumiao Town to the east, Fuxingdi Town to the north, and Dawujiazi Town and Taiping Township to the west. Wulanmutu Mountain (elevation 831.4 meters), the highest peak in Fuxin, is situated within the township. The entire township is part of a low mountain and hilly region, with terrain that is higher in the west and lower in the east, featuring distinct seasons throughout the year.
