Snake Coil Mountain is located in Fangshan Town, 25 kilometers northwest of Heishan County in western Liaoning. It is renowned for its unique charm within the Heishan region and is a famous natural landmark of Heishan County.

The main peak of Snake Coil Mountain stands at an elevation of 302 meters and covers an area of 160,000 square meters. The mountain features lush greenery, birdsong, fragrant pear blossoms, and the gentle sound of flowing water. From its southern side, visitors can gaze upon the vast expanse of Longwan Reservoir; to the north, rolling hills resemble a dragon; to the east, boundless fertile fields stretch out; and to the west, the majestic peaks of Lüshan Mountain rise. The area is steeped in many beautiful legends.

The Qing Dynasty cultural relics on the mountain, such as the "Duobao Pagoda and Cliff Carvings," are now municipal-level protected cultural heritage sites. Other historical and scenic spots include Wanghai Temple, Qingfeng Cave, Erlang Palace, Wolong Bridge, Wolong Valley, Zhanban Pine, Kuixing Tower, Stone Forest, and Forest of Steles, all of which attract numerous visitors every year.

The "Tianlong Temple" (later known as "Shuangquan Temple"), originally built in the second year of the Dading era during the reign of Emperor Shizong of the Jin Dynasty (1162 AD), suffered severe damage during the early years of liberation and the Cultural Revolution. In recent years, through multi-channel investment, key Buddhist facilities such as the Mahavira Hall, Two Monks’ Hall, East and West Side Halls, Heavenly King Hall, and Bell and Drum Towers have been restored to their former glory. Additionally, over 1,200 meters of asphalt access roads, a new mountain gate, parking lots, commercial areas, service zones, holiday entertainment zones, and infrastructure projects have been progressively improved.

Fangshan Town: Located midway between Shenyang and Jinzhou, Fangshan Town is 24 kilometers from the heroic county town where the Black Mountain Defensive Battle took place. The Da-Zheng Railway runs through the town and includes a third-class railway station, while highways provide convenient access in all directions. The town covers an area of 153 square kilometers, with a total social land area of 240,000 mu, including 110,000 mu of arable land, and a population of 34,000. Its annual output value is around 520 million yuan. The dominant industries are nationally renowned peanut production and apple pears and Jin Feng pears, which have won gold awards and are registered with the State Administration for Industry and Commerce.
