The stone carvings in Niwan Village are located about 1,000 meters south of Niwan Village, Censhan Township, Ningwu County. They face south and cover an area of approximately 5 square meters. These are Ming Dynasty stone carvings. Currently, there is one rectangular rock that is 3.4 meters in height, 1.45 meters in width, on which four recessed regular script Chinese characters “紫塞长城” (Purple Frontier Great Wall) are vertically carved. Each character is about 0.6 meters in diameter. The heading features small vertically engraved characters “张凤翔” (Zhang Fengxiang), and the signature at the end reads “大明正德……” (the Zhengde era of the Great Ming...). The small characters have been weathered and are hard to discern, but research confirms that they were inscribed in the seventh year of the Zhengde era of the Ming Dynasty (1512) by Zhang Fengxiang, who was the military defense official at the time. The Huangsonggou Grottoes are located on the yellow sandstone cliffs north of Huangsonggou Village, Hua dao Township, Ningwu County. Built against the mountain and facing south, they were carved during the Ming Dynasty and remain as they were then. There are two caves of different sizes. The larger cave is 10 meters wide and deep, and 3 meters high, with two rows of four stone pillars in front, featuring dragon carvings on the pillars. The ceiling has a caisson design, and the lintel is adorned with imitation wooden brackets. The smaller cave is 2.65 meters wide, 3 meters deep, and 1.15 meters high. The stone Buddha statues inside both caves have weathered away, leaving only the Buddhist altars. The Beitun Grottoes are located on sandstone 200 meters south of Beitun Village, Beihuatun Township, Ningwu County. These are Yuan Dynasty stone carvings, with two grottoes remaining today.
