Located in Baimipu Village, Sankeng Town, Qingxin County, the hall covers a total area of approximately 1,000 square meters. Its main gate faces east, welcoming the auspicious qi drifting from the rising sun. The eaves rise to a height of five meters, and the gate is adorned with a stone plaque inscribed with the five characters “Zhu Clan Ancestral Hall.” The structure itself reaches nine meters in height, featuring blue brick walls, glazed tile trimming, and double “cauldron-ear” roof ridges on both sides. Despite over two hundred years of wind and rain, it still stands tall and graceful—regarded as one of the tallest and best-preserved ancestral halls in northern Guangdong. The buildings along the alley on both sides of the main gate are auxiliary halls. The screen wall at the entrance is an ancient wooden carved panel. The ancestral hall has a five-courtyard layout: the front section is the ceremonial gate, the middle section houses the main hall, which features a high-ceilinged central chamber adorned with plaques and couplets on the flanking pillars, and the rear section is where the ancestral tablets are enshrined. It is said that in the past, study rooms were located on both sides of the hall—one for each courtyard—with a sky well in front and access to the Qingyun Lane behind, all quite spacious, and each hall had a staircase beside it. Oriented west-to-east, the bright and airy ancestral hall, together with its serene courtyard, served as a place for the Zhu family’s children to study.
