Wenxinjing Village

Wenxinjing Village is located in Wenxinjing Village, Daduntun Village Committee, Jintan Town, Qingxin County. Legend has it that it is the settlement of descendants of Zou Yinglong, the top scholar of the Southern Song Dynasty, covering an area of 0.21 square kilometers. The surrounding mountains undulate continuously, winding upward and embracing the village row upon row amidst lush pines and cypresses, resembling a legendary dragon from folklore. On the mountainside, there is a peculiar rock, whose shape closely resembles a dragon. The Luohe River winds around the village like a giant dragon. Originating from Daluoshan Mountain, the Luohe River surges forward with great momentum, its "head" held high and facing east. At the "dragon’s tail," the General Temple and Guanyin Temple stand side by side; further along at the "dragon’s claws," the Luoshan Ancestral Temple and Fengchen Ancestral Hall stand in parallel; while at the "front claws," the Shejun Temple and Five Buddha Ancestral Temple are aligned together. Most remarkably, at the "dragon’s head," near the confluence of the Luohe River and Longxudai River, stands the Dragon Head Temple. Its entrance faces Wenxinjing Village beneath Daluoshan Mountain, vividly resembling a mighty dragon about to soar into the clouds and take flight toward the sky, yet glancing back as if bidding farewell to Daluoshan and the village. The Luohe River races eastward like an unbridled dragon, with Wenxinjing Village situated right at the “heart” of this “dragon.” According to local elderly members of the Zou family, the village was once home to several different surnames, but all eventually moved away due to family decline. Why, then, have the Zou family thrived here? The elders say it is because the village’s mountains and waters closely resemble a coiled dragon, and descendants of Zou Yinglong, the top scholar of the Southern Song, have flourished “by the grace of the dragon spirit.” It is said that Wenxinjing Village was originally named “Maxinjing,” named after the abundant yellow hemp grown in the mountains, and has a history of a thousand years, initially inhabited by Yao people. Existing structures include the Weibing Zou Ancestral Hall from the Qing Dynasty and traditional houses. The residences feature cantilevered roofs, earthen rammed walls, and a three-room-two-corridor layout arranged in a grid pattern, with stone-paved lanes.

Daduntun Village: The Daduntun Village Committee is located in the western part of Jintan Town, 5 kilometers from the town center and 68 kilometers from the county seat. The village administers a total area of 26,605 mu, comprising 24 villager groups, with 1,630 households and a total population of 7,930, including 351 poor households totaling 1,114 individuals.
