General Li Zhaolin's Former Residence

General Li Zhaolin's Former Residence is a cultural relics protection unit of Liaoning Province.

General Li Zhaolin's Former Residence is located in Houtun Village, Huazi Town, Dengta City, Liaoyang. In the autumn of 1996, the People’s Government of Dengta City and the former People’s Government of Huazi Township invested 210,000 yuan to restore the residence, which was completed on August 1, 1997. The interior of the residence displays exhibits on his major life achievements, personal belongings, as well as poems, calligraphy, and paintings. Today, the former residence has become an important site for the Communist Party history education and patriotic education in Liaoyang City, as well as a window for the promotion of spiritual civilization.

Protected area: within 10 meters outside the courtyard walls and the outer edge of the foundation of the courtyard walls.

Construction control zone: a Class II construction control zone within 100 meters outside the protected area.

Li Zhaolin (1910–1946), originally named Li Chaolan and also known by the alias Zhang Shoufa, was born on November 2, 1910, into a peasant family in Xiaorongguantun, Huazi Township, Liaoyang County, Liaoning Province. In his youth, he attended primary school and a private school, but had to drop out and work in farming due to family financial difficulties after his father passed away.

After the September 18 Incident in 1931, Li Zhaolin persuaded his understanding mother, Yang Changqiu, and resolutely left his hometown to embark on the path of "killing the enemy, saving the nation, and reclaiming the lost territory."
