Daqing Mountain Revolutionary Heroes Monument

The Daqing Mountain Revolutionary Heroes Monument is a classic site on China's Red Tourism routes.

The Daqing Mountain Heroes Monument is a permanent memorial structure built to commemorate the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in various revolutionary wars in the Daqing Mountain area.

Construction of the Daqing Mountain Heroes Monument began on October 3, 1985, with a grand groundbreaking ceremony. It was completed on October 3, 1986, with an inauguration ceremony. On both the start and completion dates, responsible officials from the autonomous region and Ulanqab’s Party, government, and military bodies, as well as many veterans who had worked or fought in the Daqing Mountain area, came to offer their congratulations.

The Daqing Mountain Heroes Monument is located on the west side of South Street in Keyi Town, Wuchuan County, at the center of People’s Park. The monument covers an area of approximately 1.35 mu (with the total site covering about 90 mu). The front of the monument faces east, opposite the building of the Wuchuan County People’s Government.

The monument consists of four parts: the base, the pedestal, the main body, and the top, with a total height of 20 meters and a base width of 30 meters. The entire main body is cast in reinforced concrete, and all facade decorations are made of marble.

The eight large characters “Daqing Mountain Heroes Monument,” inscribed by Comrade Yang Zhilin, are inlaid on the one-meter-wide and ten-meter-high central stone slab on the front of the monument.

On August 20, 1989, the State Council approved the Daqing Mountain Revolutionary Heroes Monument as part of the second batch of National Key Martyrs’ Memorial Buildings under Protection.
