Beichuan Taizicha Tea is a China National Geographical Indication product. It is a branch formed through the long-term evolution of wild tea trees. This variety has grown for a long time at altitudes above 1,000–1,800 meters in high mountain dense forests. To adapt to the natural environment—characterized by large day-night temperature differences, frequent cloud cover, and short periods of direct sunlight—the variety has developed characteristics such as cold resistance, strong buds, thick leaves, and high amino acid content. It has a well-balanced composition, featuring abundant simple catechins (accounting for 60–80% of the tea polyphenols) and ester-type catechins (making up about 70–80% of total catechins), along with high amino acid levels. The finished tea offers a mellow taste, high aroma, bright emerald green liquor, and yellowish-green, bright leaf bottoms. It is highly resistant to brewing, free from pesticide residues, and leaves a sweet aftertaste, making it an excellent variety for producing green tea.
