Stay Warm This Winter: Japan’s “Hokuriku Week” Begins in Taiwan – With Sake and Live Taiko Drum Performances

With a cold front moving in, there’s no better time to enjoy some Japanese sake and a lively taiko drum performance. To coincide with the increase in direct flights between Taoyuan and Komatsu to daily service, Ishikawa and Fukui prefectures have launched the “Hokuriku Week in Taiwan” event, which will take place from 10:30 AM tomorrow (the 11th) to 7:00 PM on January 13. Alongside live performances by the Gyōjinjō Taiko drum group, travel consultations, and sake tastings, the event aims to bring a bit of warmth to the chilly season.

With the introduction of daily direct flights between Taoyuan and Komatsu, travelers interested in visiting Japan now have more and better options. You can freely choose cities served by EVA Air and plan your trip using an A-to-B routing. In the past, independent travelers often headed straight for Tokyo or Osaka, but now you might consider entering Japan via Kansai Airport in Osaka, starting your journey with a visit to USJ and Kyoto, then heading to the Hokuriku region for sightseeing, and finally flying back to Taoyuan Airport from Komatsu in Ishikawa Prefecture.

To coincide with the increase in direct flights between Taoyuan and Komatsu to daily service, Ishikawa and Fukui prefectures are hosting the “Hokuriku Week in Taiwan” event from January 11 to 13. During the event, held at the North Second Gate Plaza of Taipei Main Station, there will be continuous live performances by the Gyōjinjō Taiko drum group, craft displays, travel consultations, Japanese sake tastings, a quiz with prizes, gold leaf application demonstrations, and hands-on experiences. To assist those who wish to visit two or more cities, specialists will also be on hand to recommend special discounted travel packages and itineraries for attendees to consider.
