The Er'guosi Wulan Mountain Scenic Area is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

The Wulan Mountain Scenic Area in Er'guosi City is a national 3A-level tourist attraction, located on the east side of County Road 904 and on the right bank of the China-Russia border river — the Erguna River. It serves as an important node along the golden tourism route in northern Hulunbuir.

At the highest peak along the banks of the Erguna River stand the earliest ancient Obo and the oldest cluster of Obo sites, revered as the sacred birthplace of Obo tradition.

"Wulan" means "red" in Mongolian, symbolizing a sacred place. The Wulan Mountain range backs onto forests and overlooks grasslands. It was the resting place for the Mongol tribes after they emerged from the mountains and forged their iron tools, as well as the starting point of their journey to conquer the grasslands. Wulan Mountain stands like a banner along the Erguna River, guiding the early Mongol ancestors westward along its banks. By retracing the path taken by the Menggu tribe as they exited the mountains, visitors can appreciate the magnificent landscapes of Mongolia’s birthplace and feel the fearless courage and heroic spirit of its early people.

The Erguna River & Wulan Mountain Eco-Cultural Tourism Area is situated at the junction between Heishantou Town and Enhe Russian Ethnic Township in Er'guosi City, on the right bank of the China-Russia border river — the Erguna River. It lies in the middle section of the golden eco-cultural tourism route from Shiwei to Heishantou, 64 kilometers from Heishantou and 100 kilometers from Shiwei. Located in the transitional zone between forest and grassland, the area boasts majestic landscapes and stunning scenery. Historically, it was an important region for activities by the Xianbei and Western Shiwei peoples, with numerous ancient tomb clusters, cave dwellings, and rock painting sites. Along the riverbanks is the route taken by the Mongols as they emerged from the mountains with their forged iron. Wulan Mountain served as the resting place for the “Blue Wolf and White Deer” after they exited the mountains, and it is home to the earliest sacred Obo. Before the unification of the Yuan Dynasty, it was the territory of Jamukha, and later became the fief of Genghis Khan’s eldest brother, Zuchi Hasar. Today, the ruins of Jamukha’s enthronement campsite and the ancient city of Hasar remain along the Gen River. It is also the birthplace of the renowned “Sanhe Cattle” and “Sanhe Horses.” The Erguna River, known as the “River with a Golden Border,” became a hotspot for Sino-Russian gold prospectors during the late Qing Dynasty and early Republican period. The meeting of these two ethnic groups along the riverbanks gave rise to legendary love stories between Chinese men and Slavic women, leading to the emergence of the unique Huafu (Chinese-Russian mixed) ethnic group — a vibrant highlight along the Erguna River.

The planned land area of the Erguna River & Wulan Mountain Scenic Area spans 7,000 mu, with 466 hectares of grassland. The total investment is 114,243,900 yuan. The scenic area includes the following facilities:
