On October 3, 2012, a convoy composed of media personnel and passionate Roewe W5 self-driving enthusiasts gathered in Hulunbuir, Inner Mongolia. Passing through Hailar, Shiwei, Eerguna and other areas, they headed toward the China-Mongolia border in Manzhouli. This was the third leg of the Roewe W5 “Measure the Frontier, Honor the Heroes” expedition. Over five consecutive days and spanning more than 1,000 kilometers of self-driving, ACOME provided outdoor travel gear for the journey. We were fortunate to witness the magnificent northern landscapes of our country along the way.
The route along the China-Mongolia border is located in the mid-latitude region and features a temperate semi-arid continental climate. The area enjoys relatively long daylight hours, frequent strong winds, and is quite dry. October serves as the transitional month from autumn to winter, with temperatures dropping sharply. The average temperature ranges between -3°C and 8°C. Frost and cold waves occur successively. Precipitation decreases significantly, with the seasonal average rainfall at 42.6 mm, accounting for 14% of the annual total.
