The Vina River Sanatorium is located on a grassy plot in the mountains on the northern side of the Vinahan Mountain Range, which lies on the western foothills of the central section of the Greater Khingan Mountains. At an altitude of 1,070 meters, it is 158 kilometers from the grassland city of Hailar.

The Vina River Sanatorium boasts stunning scenery — surrounded by mountains on three sides and a river on one, it features pristine larch and poplar-birch forests. Towering pines stand strong, while birch woods are lush and green. The area is covered with verdant grass, dotted with colorful flowers, and alive with wildlife such as hazel grouses, pheasants, and Siberian partridges that occasionally dart across the treetops, while eagles soar high in the sky. The forest is also home to a variety of animals, including roe deer, roe, deer, black bears, wolves, foxes, and hares. On the mountains, you can forage for red beans, bracken, wild leeks, mountain apricots, and dozens of valuable medicinal herbs. The Vina River is inhabited by otters, carp, catfish, pike, and eels.
