Xiamen Airlines' Beijing branch officially launched, with the Boeing 787 entering service

Xiamen Airlines announced the official establishment of its Beijing branch on September 5, marking a significant move in its strategy to expand into the North China market. Currently, Xiamen Airlines has seven overnight aircraft in Beijing, with an actual operational fleet of 13 planes. It operates 10 outbound routes from Beijing to cities including Fuzhou, Xiamen, Changsha, Hangzhou, and Shanghai.

Xiamen Airlines stated that since June this year, it has launched routes from Beijing to Hailar, Shanghai, and others. Additionally, the airline's first Boeing 787 officially joined the fleet on August 31 and began operating on the Beijing-Fuzhou and Beijing-Xiamen routes starting September 6. A second Boeing 787 will also be deployed to the Beijing market after joining in October this year.

Xiamen Airlines also noted that the six Boeing 787s it has purchased will all be delivered by October next year. Once operations stabilize, the airline plans to use the B787s to launch international and regional routes from Beijing to Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, Europe, America, and Australia.
