Ameiqituo Town

Ameiqituo Town is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

The Ameiqituo Town Scenic Area in Qinglong is one of the county’s relocation and resettlement sites for immigrants. It is a national model demonstration site for poverty alleviation through relocation of an entire township, as well as for tourism-driven poverty alleviation. The scenic area has a planned land use area of 1,450 acres and a construction area of 274,200 square meters, relocating 1,233 households comprising 5,853 people. The housing adopts a terraced architectural layout, truly reflecting the design philosophy of building along the contours of the mountain and following nature. By integrating totem worship of the Miao and Yi ethnic groups, the layout cleverly incorporates “ox head” and “tiger head” motifs, giving it a strong sense of the mystery of local ethnic minority culture. The scenic area aims to become a national-level tourism poverty alleviation demonstration town. Guided by Party building and supported by the development of the Ameiqituo scenic area, it provides employment and industry security for relocated households, truly realizing the goals of “being able to relocate, staying stably, integrating quickly, and achieving prosperity.” In 2019, through tourism-driven poverty alleviation, it directly helped 119 registered poor households increase their income and escape poverty.

The town features Miao and Yi cultural squares, the Gratitude Tower, the Gratitude Pavilion, and an ethnic cultural square. It integrates multiple functions such as shopping, dining, culture, entertainment, tourism, and leisure, forming a unique ethnic cultural tourism town. Thanks to the dedicated efforts of the Qinglong County Party Committee and County Government, the town not only offers landscapes and cultural performances that better reflect ethnic customs, but also provides visitors with a new consumption experience that combines eating, staying, traveling, shopping, and entertainment. Moreover, the town is just 3 kilometers away from the 4A-level “24 Turns Historical Site Park,” complementing it and forming a uniquely advantageous geographical environment.

With its distinct theme, rich cultural atmosphere, strong ethnic flavor, and originality, the scenic area stands as a successful example of implementing development models such as “Tourism+” and tourism-driven poverty alleviation.

In the future, the Ameiqituo Town Scenic Area will surely become a new cultural tourism calling card for Guizhou Province, making greater contributions to the economic development of the Qiannan Buyei and Miao Autonomous Prefecture.

Based on the traditional living and working scenes of the Yi and Miao peoples, cultural squares featuring gold, silver, and bronze gates have been created respectively. The Moon Lake Water Recreation and Leisure Center and the Love Corridor have been built based on a Yi legend about love. Bright brown reinforced concrete buildings full of Yi ethnic flavor are built along the mountain, with terraced layouts that create a staggered arrangement of residences and showcase beautiful curved sloping roofs.

[Gratitude Tower]

The Gratitude Tower stands on Moon Lake Mountain in Ameiqituo Town. It consists of three parts: the tower base, the tower pedestal, and the tower building, and faces the Gratitude Pavilion from afar. The tower is built in an ancient style, incorporating cultural elements of the Yi and Miao peoples in its appearance. It has six floors and is 30 meters tall. From the top of the tower, the entire scenic area is visible. Inside the tower, there is an exhibition hall showcasing the arduous process and fruitful achievements of poverty alleviation through relocation, reflecting the meticulous care of the Party Central Committee for the people in impoverished areas.

[Gratitude Pavilion]

The Gratitude Pavilion is a modern, diversified, interactive exhibition hall that integrates publicity, display, education, and experience. Following the standard of creating a provincial-level gratitude education demonstration base, and centering on the theme of “gratitude,” it includes: a Party building exhibition hall, a pioneers and models exhibition hall, a poverty alleviation exhibition hall, a gratitude exchange room, a gratitude library, a gratitude lecture hall, and an ethnic culture exhibition hall. Through pictures, texts, multimedia, and interactive experiences, it showcases the touching stories of how officials wholeheartedly helped impoverished people leave their impoverished homes and break free from the roots of poverty during the great battle against poverty, recording every detail of the journey. It also displays the care and concern of leaders at the central, provincial, and prefectural levels for the people of Qinglong and Ameiqituo Town. The pavilion enhances the relocated people’s love for the Party, the country, and their homes, and guides them to be grateful, take the initiative to start businesses and work diligently, and strive to win the battle against poverty and build a moderately prosperous society in all respects.
