Recently, reporters learned from the Wulong Propaganda Department that the first “Charming Fairy Mountain” Characteristic Cultural Art Exhibition and Performance in Wulong will open on July 17 at Fairy Square in Fairy Mountain Town, Wulong. At that time, participants will not only be able to view Wulong’s intangible cultural heritage items but also enjoy vibrant song and dance performances rich in Wulong’s distinctive geographical features.

It is reported that this art exhibition and performance is led by the Wulong County Propaganda Department and the County Culture and Sports Commission, in collaboration with the Fairy Mountain Town Government of Wulong County. Its aim is to promote Wulong’s distinctive folk culture and boost tourism promotion in Wulong. Through the display of intangible cultural heritage, high-quality cultural programs from across the county, performances of characteristic local culture, recommendations of unique tourism products, and exhibitions of works by renowned calligraphers and painters, it offers visitors a vivid and intuitive “Wulong Tourism” encyclopedia experience.

As the first of its kind, this exhibition season will run until mid-August (from July 17 to August 8). During the day, visitors can participate in a series of fun local sports activities on-site, and every evening they can enjoy numerous Wulong folk culture performances. Throughout the one-month event, as representative elements of Wulong’s regional intangible culture, dragon and lion dances, suona horns, panpipes, and gong-and-drum performances will make rare appearances. All 23 towns and counties in the region, along with song and dance troupes, will join forces to create folk culture performances such as the “Intangible Heritage Night” on July 24, the “Xueling Xianshan Cup Music and Dance Competition” on July 25, and the “Zhongxia Shiyuan Folk Village Night” on July 31. These events are sure to add a new highlight to Wulong’s tourism offerings.
