Jiaomen
Destination Introduction
Jiaomen is located 3 kilometers southwest of Yongdingmen. It was a side gate outside the nine main gates of the ancient Nanyuan (Imperial Hunting Park), specifically established for nearby tenant farmers to enter the park for their official duties.
Jiaobao Village to the west of the village was situated at the northwest corner of the Nanyuan enclosure. Unlike the nine main gates used by the emperor (such as the South and North Dahongmen), Jiaomen had only a small gate and a duty guardhouse. The place names Jiaomen and Jiaobao mark the boundary of the Nanyuan enclosure.
