Beijing Garden Expo Park is the venue of the 9th China International Garden Expo. It is situated along the green ecological development zone by the Yongding River in Fengtai District in the southwest of Beijing, covering a total area of 267 hectares. It borders the new right embankment of the Yongding River to the east, extends to Yingshan Park to the west, starts from Meishikou Road to the south, and reaches Lianshi West Road to the north. Relying on the Yongding River channel and standing in echo with the ancient Lugou Bridge, the park boasts a rich historical and cultural atmosphere, diverse terrain, and a landscape where mountains and water complement each other, making it quite unique.
Beijing Garden Expo Park embodies a spatial layout of “one axis, two points, three belts, and five gardens.” The one axis refers to the Garden Expo Axis that runs from east to west; the two points are the Garden Museum and Jinxiu Valley; the three belts are three green landscape corridors extending from the West Zone of Zhongguancun Science Park Fengtai Park into the Garden Expo Park; the five gardens are five core exhibition areas with different features, namely: the Traditional Gardens, Modern Gardens, Creative Gardens, Ecological Gardens, and International Gardens.
Beijing Garden Expo Park will construct China’s first Garden Museum integrating multiple technological methods, serving as a platform to comprehensively showcase the new achievements of China’s garden industry and the full spectrum of garden art and its development. The construction of Beijing Garden Expo Park will adopt various approaches to enhance interactivity and participation, promote green and eco-friendly concepts to the whole society, and demonstrate the scientific and rational use of energy-saving and environmentally friendly new materials, technologies, and techniques, as well as low-carbon technologies such as reclaimed water, solar energy, and wind energy. This will also become a highlight of Beijing Garden Expo Park.
