The 5th edition featured participants from 82 countries and cities, making it the most internationally represented, largest in area, and most invested in scenic construction compared to previous expos. Nearly 100 garden exhibits built within the park showcase a hundred breathtaking scenes like fairy paintings, making the Garden Expo Park the newest, most beautiful, and most scenically diverse municipal park in Shenzhen to date.

The Shenzhen International Garden & Flower Expo Park (hereinafter referred to as the "Garden Expo Park") covers an area of 660,000 square meters. Adjacent to Shennan Avenue and located between Xiangmihu and OCT (Overseas Chinese Town), it faces Hong Kong across the water. It is a Shenzhen five-star park that integrates gardening, public culture, science education, tourism exhibitions, and grid-connected solar power generation. Strolling through the park, you can enjoy the classical elegance of Huizhou-style gardens with their white walls and black tiles, the poetic charm of Jiangnan gardens, and the exquisite craftsmanship of Lingnan gardens. You’ll also experience rich foreign flavors—the wild appeal of the Houston Planet Garden, the meticulous layout of the Japanese Garden, the monstrous stone carvings of the Indonesian Garden, and the wrought-iron gates of the Canadian Moon Garden... The park cultivates over 1,800 varieties of rare flowers and plants, including wild species, native varieties, introduced and domesticated foreign species, northern species, horticultural cultivars, and improved breeds... There are also ancient and large trees, petrified wood, and nursery forests... These plants fully reflect landscaping characteristics from across China and around the world. The park houses two major exhibition halls: the nearly 10,000-square-meter Comprehensive Hall and the Floral Hall. One sits lightly like a peacock’s feather amidst greenery and blossoms, while the other stands majestically between the Welcome Plaza and Yingcui Lake, making them ideal venues for science popularization, exhibitions, and research. The park features a musical fountain that is 101 meters long with water jets reaching 45 meters high, which dances gently or soars into the sky in harmony with melodious music. It also has Asia’s most advanced 1-megawatt solar photovoltaic power generation system, leading the city’s environmental protection efforts and serving as a model project for Shenzhen’s circular economy. A nine-story 52-meter-tall stone Fortune Pagoda stands proudly in the park, becoming a new iconic landmark of Shenzhen... The Garden Expo Park is an urban oxygen bar that highlights the appreciation and study of both ancient and modern gardening techniques, while also serving as a key destination for sightseeing, leisure, science education, and recreation. Fortune Pagoda

At the highest point of Shenzhen Garden Expo Park stands a nine-story octagonal brick pagoda modeled after wooden structures, serving as the park’s iconic building. To reflect the regional characteristics of Futian District, it is named the “Fortune Pagoda.” Standing 52 meters tall with nine stories, it offers a panoramic view of the entire park and even the scenery of Shenzhen Bay. On both sides of the main gate are couplets reading “Fortune Hills Embrace Greenery, Fields Shine Brightly,” and each gate is flanked by inscriptions of the Chinese character “Fu” (fortune) in various calligraphic styles, showcasing traditional Chinese fortune culture.

The Fortune Pagoda is built from granite, featuring nine stories, nine chambers, and nine octagonal terraces. The inner and outer stone walls are engraved with representative characters for “Fu” (fortune) from various dynasties. It is said that during discussions on the construction plan, many modern designs were abandoned in favor of a traditional style to highlight Shenzhen’s inclusive, diverse, and oceanic cultural spirit.

Binhai Pearl showcases the charm of Zhuhai.

“Maoming Charm” uses garden landscaping techniques to express the unique cultural features of Maoming: the heroic spirit of the traditional national heroine Lady Xian as a unifier of ethnic groups, the traditional culture of southern jade art, highlighting the long history and artistic taste of southern jade in Maoming, and showcasing the traditional-style two-story pavilion building—Jianyu Pavilion; rural-style farmhouses, flower stands, and a large number of fruit trees represent the modern high-yield, high-quality, and high-efficiency agricultural culture of Maoming.

The entrance gate of Yueqing Garden is a grand Qing-style archway, imposing and majestic, giving visitors a sense of grandeur and openness.

Covering an area of 2,400 m², “Yueqing Garden” is divided into two main parts: the formal front courtyard and the naturalistic back garden. It skillfully uses scenic gates, windows, rockeries, and walls to create framed views and obstructed scenery, enhancing the garden atmosphere. The front courtyard is simple and bright, with features such as Xiangxi Pool and Hui Cui Garden arranged neatly in rows and columns, while the buildings in the back garden are integrated into the landscape.

Bus: From Luohu Port or Shenzhen Railway Station: Take Bus 101 to “Overseas Chinese Town East Station”;

From the airport: Take Bus 338 to “Garden Expo Park Station”;

Other bus routes: 204, 222, 232, 26, 32, 301A, 315, 319, 320, 324, 327, 338, 350, 367, 369, 49.

Note: The sign for Bus 303 indicates it goes to the Garden Expo Park, but in reality, it does not. However, the bus signage has not been updated.

Metro: Take Line 1 of the metro to “Qiaochengdong Station,” exit from Exit A, and walk east for 300 meters to reach the destination.

By car: From the exit of Futian Bus Station on the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Expressway, enter Shennan Avenue, then turn into the auxiliary road at the Zizhu 7th Road traffic light intersection and drive 100 meters to reach the South Gate parking lot.
