The most romantic floral event of May is undoubtedly the tung blossom season. In April and May when tung blossoms bloom, the lush mountains look as if blanketed in snowfall. Delicate white petals drift down with the wind, forming long flower-carpeted trails on the ground. This breathtaking sight is an annual spectacle not to be missed. Due to climatic factors, the blooms are slightly later this year, but tung blossoms in Changhua have already quietly emerged. Flower-chasers should keep a close eye on bloom updates.

Spring and summer mark the tung blossom season. Central Changhua County boasts numerous tung blossom viewing spots. An aerial photographer recently captured a hidden tung blossom gem near No. 186 Lane, Shanjiao Road, Yuanlin, Changhua, where the bloom coverage has reached nearly 50%. The white blossoms blanket the green mountains, creating a stunning view. Besides Yuanlin’s Shanjiao Road, other great tung blossom spots in Changhua include the Baguashan Route 139 Dazhang Road, Eastern Outer Ring Tung Blossom Trail, Taoyuanli Forest Trail, and Futian Tung Blossom Eco-Park.

To make it easier for people to go up the mountains for flower viewing, the Changhua County Government, together with the Changhua City Office and the Futian Community Development Association, jointly organizes the Hakka Tung Blossom Festival's Dreamy Tung Blossom Trails event. On May 13 and 14, the city office will provide special tung blossom shuttle buses departing from Changhua Railway Station at fixed times. Flower viewers can use public transport to get there.
