Want to visit the Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum but don’t want to be limited by advance booking?The Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum recently announced that in addition to online reservations, general individual visitors can now also purchase tickets on-site, allowing for more flexible itinerary planning.

It has been over a year since the Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum opened, and it sees a constant stream of visitors every weekend. Now, the number of on-site ticket slots has been increased. Those who find it inconvenient or are unable to make online reservations in advance need not worry—individual visitors in groups of up to nine can purchase tickets directly on-site for entry.

The museum also recommends that visitors book tickets online in advance so they can use the express ticket pickup channel, saving time waiting in line. To maintain the quality of the visit, a crowd control mechanism will still be in place, and the number of visitors in each exhibition hall will be monitored in real time to ensure a comfortable visiting environment.

Additionally, the Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum has a service counter on the second floor at the entrance hall, providing ticketing and audio guide rental services for seniors, people with disabilities, and other visitors with special needs. For those wanting a more in-depth museum experience, you can also join the daily Mandarin-guided tours at 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Participation in this activity only requires a payment of NT$30 for the group audio guide device rental fee.

In celebration of May 18, International Museum Day, the museum will offer free admission on that day. Additionally, on May 13 and 14, Taiwanese citizens can present their ID to enjoy free entry to exhibitions at both the Northern and Southern Branches of the National Palace Museum.
