Bijia Mountain Park is located on the northern side of central Shenzhen, adjacent to the Futian Central District. Covering an area of 146 hectares, it features a rolling hilly landscape with over ten small peaks. Among them, three main peaks stand in a row from east to west, resembling a penholder—hence the name. The highest peak stands at 178 meters above sea level, offering a distant view of the Emperor Building. From the summit, visitors can not only overlook the vibrant cityscape but also gaze at the scenic beauty of Shenzhen Bay, Shekou, as well as Sheung Shui and Yuen Long in Hong Kong. The park is currently undergoing various infrastructure developments. To date, Bijia Mountain Park has established over 400,000 square meters of lawns, two artificial lakes, two lawn bowls courts, and developed service facilities such as fishing areas and tea houses. Every year during the Double Ninth Festival, the park hosts large-scale mountain climbing competitions and organizes several friendly lawn bowls matches. The park also plans to hold various major events to enrich the leisure life of residents. Bijia Mountain Park provides a peaceful retreat within the bustling city. With its high hills and dense forests, the park is filled with birdsong and floral scents. Over 80% of the park consists of mountainous terrain, with the highest peak reaching 178 meters, classifying it as a mountain park.

The park boasts abundant plant resources, with a vegetation coverage rate of over 95% and more than 1,000 plant species. It is also home to over 560 types of wildlife. Located in the northern part of the 800-meter Green Belt, the park is an important component of the green belt’s landscape. The terrain is diverse, the scenery is uniquely beautiful, the vegetation is lush, and there is a rich variety of animal species, including a notable abundance of butterflies, birds, insects, and snakes. The park’s wildlife includes mammals such as masked palm civets, hedgehogs, and wild rabbits, as well as over 20 bird species such as thrushes, mountain sparrows, grey tits, egrets, night herons, kingfishers, doves, parrots, and bamboo partridges. Bijia Mountain Park's natural mountainous area features a rich diversity of tree species, giving it a strong forest atmosphere. The forest is mainly composed of camphor trees, small-leaved banyans, blue mahoe, and Taiwan acacia, mixed with 20 other species such as schefflera, yellow cow wood, and sweet gum. The understory vegetation is lush and diverse, dominated by species such as rhodomyrtus tomentosa, psychotria rubra, melastoma candidum, and camphorwood. There are seven ancient trees in the park, including two 126-year-old fish-poison trees and five 106-year-old lychee trees. The overall plan for Bijia Mountain Park is to create a complete, typical European-style garden that maximally preserves the original natural scenery and landscape. Visitors can freely stroll, rest, and admire the park’s rich natural views, gaze at the city skyline outside the park, and fully enjoy the tranquility and atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle.
