Description: The era of the original construction of Huaide Huang Ancestral Hall is uncertain. The hall is named "Zhaoming Hall" and known as "Huaide Huang Ancestral Hall." It was established by the Huang clan of Shangsha Village to commemorate Huang Zhaosun, the second-generation ancestor, and Huang Huaide, the third-generation ancestor of the Southern Song Dynasty. Huang Huaide was born in the eighth year of the Qiandao era (1172) and died in the first year of the Chunyou era (1241) of the Song Dynasty. The structure faces south and is built with brick and wood. It has a layout of three bays, three courtyards, and two skywells, covering a width of 12.9 meters and a depth of 33.8 meters, with a total area of 481 square meters. The building includes a front hall, middle hall, front corridor, rear corridor, and main hall. The stone plaque above the main gate is inscribed with “Huaide Huang Ancestral Hall,” and the couplet reads “Ancestral grace from Shan Mountain, family prestige under the coconut tree.” The ancestral hall has been renovated in various dynasties. The existing structure reflects the Qing Dynasty style, but Ming Dynasty column bases and some stone-paved floors are preserved inside. After the liberation, the hall was used as Shatou Primary School, a commune canteen, a sugar factory, a distillery, a rice mill, and a grain storage site. In the autumn of 1991, it was renovated with donations from overseas Chinese and compatriots from Hong Kong and Macau in Shangsha Village. This is the earliest-built ancestral hall in Shenzhen commemorating figures from the earliest historical period.
