Huanggang Museum

The Huanggang Museum is located in the central square of Huanggang Village, Futian District, Shenzhen. It covers an area of 3,000 square meters, with a construction area of 1,700 square meters, and a total investment of 20 million RMB. It was built by the Party Branch and the Board of Directors of Huanggang Industrial Co., Ltd. as part of their efforts to promote both material and cultural development. Motivated by a respect for history and the villagers' traditions, they modeled the museum after Huanggang Village’s over 200-year-old ancestral hall. Guided by the principle of “retaining the style but transforming the content,” they invested in constructing this museum. Echoing the long history of Huanggang Village, the museum is a large-scale traditional-style folk ancestral hall building with Guangdong architectural features. Its classic and solemn design, along with its majestic presence, stands out prominently among the surrounding high-rises, becoming a scenic highlight of Huanggang Village. The museum’s main exhibition, "Huanggang: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow," focuses on showcasing the village’s history, its journey of reform, entrepreneurship, and development, its cultural traditions, and its promising future. It highlights the spirit of perseverance and hard work of the people of Huanggang, fully reflecting the tremendous changes the village has undergone on its path toward shared prosperity. It serves as a microcosm of Shenzhen’s rural reform and opening-up achievements, embodying both typicality and representativeness. It is an excellent site for education on reform, opening-up, and patriotism.
