Shenzhen Meilin Park

Shenzhen Meilin Park was built in June 2003, located on the east side of Meilin Reservoir and north of Meilin Yicun, covering an area of 27 hectares. The Ancient Lychee Area preserves nearly a thousand original ancient lychee trees, most of which are over a hundred years old. With towering old trees and lush greenery, it is a rare natural landscape in Shenzhen.

Based on the natural terrain of the mountain, Meilin Park features attractions such as the Lychee Grove Activity Area, Senior Citizens’ Activity Square, Children’s Square, Four Seasons Square, Fitness Activity Area, Hiking Trails, Valley Stream, the “Lychee Fragrance” Landscape Wall at the East Gate, and the “Twenty-Four Filial Exemplars” Corridor, while also preserving the cultural heritage site of the “Three Saints Temple.”

Part of Meilin Park’s land consists of continuous mountainous areas, and part includes four peninsula-like mountains extending toward the urban built-up area, forming four relatively independent sections: the Ancient Lychee Area, the Colorful Meilin Area, the Sound-of-Waves Area, and the Fragrant Area. Among these, the Ancient Lychee Area is situated within the Meilin Yicun residential community and serves as the core scenic zone of Meilin Park, developed and constructed according to municipal park standards. The Colorful Meilin Area, Sound-of-Waves Area, and Fragrant Area primarily adopt protective development measures on the basis of gradually restoring forest vegetation—preserving and optimizing the existing plant communities, and constructing necessary facilities such as hiking trails and fitness platforms to meet residents' needs for exercise and leisure activities.
