Shenzhen Nongke Space Crops Park

The Shenzhen Space Crops Park is located at the Nongke Center in Xiangmihu, Futian District. Established in 2004, it covers an area of 60,000 square meters and cultivates approximately 70 types of space-grown plants. It is the only domestic space-themed crop park in China that integrates science education, leisure sightseeing, product display, scientific research, and academic exchange.

Plant seeds that have been improved through space technology may become superior. Space-grown plants are mainly divided into greenhouse and open-air sections based on cultivation methods, and into medicinal, ornamental, and edible categories based on their uses. For example, plantain and patchouli are medicinal plants, while lotus and crown flowers are ornamental. Snake gourd, mouse melon, and sunflowers serve both ornamental and edible purposes.

The Nongke Space Crops Park displays over 400 types of crops that were carried aboard China's Shenzhou spacecraft series and Russian spacecraft. These include massive space pumpkins weighing nearly 200 pounds, mouse melons shaped like rodents, football-sized space eggplants, chicken-egg-sized space eggplants, colorful space peppers, space gourds over one meter tall, as well as highly nutritious space tomatoes, cucumbers, loofahs, peppers, and legumes. There are also multicolored space morning glories, butterfly flowers, orchids, and coleus. A wide variety of rare spices and exotic vegetables planted outdoors are sure to amaze visitors.

Here, children can not only learn about many common vegetables, flowers, and fruits from daily life, but also gain knowledge about space agriculture through guided tours, fully experiencing the wonders of aerospace technology and nature. The park also offers outdoor activities such as mudfish catching, trampoline jumping, rock climbing, and beach volleyball, and has space available for hosting large-scale events.
