Seven Immortal Maidens Mountain is located in Nanao Town, Shenzhen, and is the main peak of the southern part of Dapeng Peninsula, with an elevation of 869 meters, making it the second highest peak in Shenzhen. The peaks of Seven Immortal Maidens Mountain are staggered and the mountain is rugged and majestic. The area features a mix of striking rock formations, caves, mountain springs, dense forests, and a rich variety of wildlife, presenting a colorful and diverse landscape.

Here, there is none of the dust and noise of the city—magical yet ordinary, enchanting yet familiar.

The charm of Seven Immortal Maidens Mountain lies not only in its continuous, towering, and lush peaks but also in the many legends and stories associated with it.

One legend says that Seven Immortal Maidens Mountain, also known as Dapeng Mountain, was once visited by seven fairies who wandered here. Perched above the sea within the mighty roc-like mountain, they were captivated by the beautiful scenery and refused to return to heaven. When the Jade Emperor learned of this, he urgently summoned the Thunder God to pursue them, but the fairies vowed never to leave and insisted on staying in the human world. The angry Jade Emperor then transformed them into seven peaks, giving the mountain its name.

Another tale says that Seven Immortal Maidens Mountain, also called Chuliang Mountain (Grain-Producing Mountain), was so named because it was abundant in crops such as sweet potatoes, cassava, taro, and yams. Especially around the area of Dashiyanyan (formerly Jiushiyali), the mountain ginger was famous for its spiciness. Anyone who climbed the mountain to gather food would return with a bountiful harvest, hence the name Chuniang Mountain (Grain-Giving Mountain).

Transportation: Take bus 360 within the city to reach Nanao Town. From there, take a minivan or motorcycle to the mountain. If driving, you can park at the mineral water factory (for safety, it is recommended to park your car in a formal parking lot in Dapeng or Nanao Town and then take another vehicle to the mineral water factory). From the water plant, head west through an orange grove until you see a white house used for orchard watching, where a fairly clear mountain path begins. Follow the path through pineapple fields and thickets to reach the firebreak (running roughly north-south). Hikers should walk along the firebreak for about 400 meters to a platform (approximately 100 meters above sea level), then look to the left where a path through the jungle leading toward the mountaintop can be found. This marks the true beginning of the climb.
