Longgang Botanical Garden

Longgang Botanical Garden is located by Ni’ao Reservoir in Nanyue, Longgang Town, Longgang District, covering a total area of 3,202 mu. The garden is surrounded by mountains on all sides, with a lake in the center and two small islands in the lake. It boasts beautiful natural scenery with lush mountains and clear waters. The garden has introduced nearly a thousand species of tropical and subtropical ornamental plants from both China and abroad, as well as plants of scientific significance or high economic value, along with rare, exotic, and unique plants. The garden is home to approximately 3,500 to 4,000 plant species in total. It has been listed as a priority-funded project under the United Nations GEF biodiversity conservation program. The club within the botanical garden is a multi-level, diverse, and multifunctional facility that caters to different consumer groups, as well as a bright and healthy social venue. Its offerings include a golf course, green club house, log cabin villas, and Longhu Fishing Club.

Longgang Subdistrict: On November 26, 2003, Longgang District abolished Longgang Town and established two subdistrict Party working committees and offices—Longgang and Longcheng—which were officially inaugurated on January 1, 2004.

Longgang Subdistrict:

It governs nine communities: Xinsheng, Longgang, Nanyue, Tongle, Longdong, Nanlian, Shengping, Longgang Market, and Pingnan.

Importance of Longgang Subdistrict

It is an important transportation hub in eastern Shenzhen, serving as the junction of the Shenzhen–Huizhou and Shenzhen–Shanwei first-class highways, as well as the Huizhou–Yanjiang and Shenzhen–Shanwei expressways.
