Heshe Ancient Village

Heshe Ancient Village is located in Xichong Community, Nan'ao Subdistrict, Longgang District, Shenzhen. It borders Xichong Beach to the south and Qiniang Mountain to the north.

The village originally had no official written name; in the local Hakka dialect, it was called “Hediu” Village. “Diu” means “nest” or “roost,” describing the gathering of numerous birds that settled here. After the liberation, it was once registered as “Hedou,” and later changed to “Heshe,” which has been used ever since.

Just over 900 meters from Xichong Beach, Heshe Ancient Village still retains its ancient gate tower. Here, you can experience the original way of life of Shenzhen’s Hakka people and the culture of an ancient village.

Near Shenzhen, with ancient villages and beaches, artistry and tradition — 90% of people haven’t been here. Forget Lijiang and Fenghuang; take a stroll in Heshe first.

Xichong Community: Located at the southeastern tip of Dapeng Peninsula, Xichong Community borders Daya Bay to the east, Dapeng Bay to the west, and the Pacific Ocean to the south. Surrounded by mountains on three sides and facing the sea, it features rolling peaks and lush greenery, with picturesque scenery. The area covers 22 square kilometers and includes eight residential groups: Yashan, Xinwu, Heshe, Shagang, Getian, Xiyangwei, Nanshe, and Xigong. The total population is 2,119. The Xigong residential group is home to the Zhong Clan Ancestral Hall and the Tam Gong Temple.
