Shark Bay is one of the oldest villages in Shenzhen, with a history of 500 years. In the past, it was once as bustling and prosperous as could be. Though that heyday is long gone, its former glory can only be imagined today through two weathered ancient bridges, a hidden historic path, and an abandoned port — offering plenty of inspiration for photographers and creators.

Shark Bay may be one of the last unspoiled spots in Shenzhen. With crystal-clear waters and stilt houses built along the shore, taking an evening stroll on the soft, fine sandy beach while watching the sunset is truly a delightful experience.

Travel Tips

1. Location: East of the You Terminal in Kuichong, Dapeng, Shenzhen

2. Bus Routes: Take B755, M357, or M362 from downtown and get off at the “Tuyang Police Station” bus stop. Walk about 196 meters to reach Shark Bay Port.

3. Driving Route: Exit at Tuyang on the Yanba Expressway, drive 3 km along Shenkui Highway, turn onto Kui peng Road after about 200 meters, then make a right at the Shark Bay intersection. It’s 1 km further to the entrance of Shark Bay Village.
