Dapeng Granary

The Dapeng Granary was first built during the Kangxi era and expanded in the Yongzheng era. It served as a military grain storage facility. As a strategic military stronghold, Dapeng Ancient Town has long maintained granaries for storing army provisions, managed by appointed officials. The current granary was rebuilt in the 1950s. It often hosts exhibitions from the Dapeng Ancient Town Museum in Longgang District, including the “Ancient Weapons Exhibition,” “Architectural Art Exhibition,” “Dapeng Folk Marriage Exhibition,” and more…

“The Dapeng Granary is located within Dapeng Ancient Town, established alongside the Yongying Granary. It was built in the 14th year of the Wanli era (1586 AD).” “The Office of the Dapeng Granary Superintendent was also located within Dapeng Ancient Town, alongside the Yongying Granary Superintendent. It was abolished in the 15th year of the Chongzhen era (1642 AD) and has been defunct for a long time.” “The Dapeng Military Granary was situated to the east of the County Magistrate’s Office.
