Yiweng Building

Yiweng Building is located on Laifu Lane in Dapeng Suocheng and was built in the 26th year of the Daoguang reign during the Qing Dynasty (1846 AD). Covering an area of 360 square meters, it is a two-story brick-and-wood structure with a two-courtyard, three-bay layout. The central courtyard is flanked by rooms arranged in a one-hall, two-room configuration on each side. The floor is paved with large clay bricks, the wall base is made of blue granite, topped with blue bricks, and the roof is covered with clay tiles in a flush-gable style with a standard ridge. Yiweng Building served as the study of General Lai Enjue, hence it is also known as the “Lai Family Study.” A plaque inscribed with “Chonglan Study Room” hangs inside, and it was later used as a study room for the children of the Lai family. After the liberation, it was once used as a grain storage facility by the commune. It is now open to the public as a museum exhibition hall.
