The bronze Guanyin statue at Wanfo Yanshou Temple (including the stone stele) is located within the grounds of the Fengtai Sports Center. It was designated as a district-level cultural relic protection unit in 1984.

According to the surviving “Pagoda Stele Inscription,” Wanfo Yanshou Temple was built in the first year of the Wanli era during the Ming Dynasty (1572). The temple itself has long since collapsed, and the Bodhisattva statue is situated on the ruins of the rear hall’s Dabeige Pavilion. Measuring 8 meters in height from the lotus pedestal, the statue features an ornate crown adorned with three female faces—each round yet slightly slender in form, conveying a serene and reserved expression. Originally, the statue had 24 arms on either side, most of which are now missing. The four remaining arms are in various poses, showcasing the delicate flexibility of the fingers. The figure wears a short top and a long skirt, with flowing ribbons hanging down both sides and the entire body decorated with jeweled ornaments. The dress is intricately engraved with patterns such as lotus flowers and scrolling vines. The statue stands atop a lotus pedestal, the front of which is embossed with two dragons soaring through clouds. The bronze statue was cast in three sections and then sculpted and finished.

The Guanyin statue is exquisitely beautiful in both spirit and form. As the largest and most elegantly crafted bronze Bodhisattva statue extant in Beijing, it represents a high level of artistic achievement in both casting and sculpture.
