Julong Bay Natural Hot Spring Resort is nestled in the picturesque and lush-green town of Tangtang, Fogang County, Qingyuan City, Guangdong Province (next to National Highway 106 at the Tangtang exit of the Beijing-Zhuhai Expressway), offering extremely convenient transportation — just a one-hour drive from Guangzhou. Water Quality: According to the Song Dynasty text “Taiping Huanyu Ji,” it is recorded: “The springs flow ceaselessly, steam rises like mist, food can be heated in them, and sores heal instantly when washed in the waters.” In 1960, scientific evaluations by the Guangdong Academy of Medical Sciences and Sun Yat-sen University of Medical Sciences confirmed that the hot spring water is a rare and precious “radon” spring, characterized by its crystal-clear, colorless, and odorless quality. The spring water contains over 20 non-radioactive trace elements including carbon dioxide, radon, calcium, potassium, sodium, magnesium, iron, and chlorine. The spring source originates from natural thermal mineral water more than 200 meters underground, with the springhead emerging at a temperature of 82°C, classifying it as a high-temperature spring. The radon content in the water reaches concentrations recognized by the medical community as therapeutically beneficial for the human body, demonstrating significant efficacy in treating over thirty types of ailments such as various skin diseases, periarthritis of the shoulder, lumbar muscle strain, arthritis, gastrointestinal disorders, neurological conditions, hypertension, and arteriosclerosis. It is currently regarded as one of the finest hot springs among Southeast Asia’s geothermal radon springs.
