When the cave entrance opens, the radiant glow within reflects the moonlight, revealing a spectacular sight of rare, translucent, and intricately shaped yellow wax limestone lava formations. Spanning tens of thousands of square meters, the cavern chamber is packed with a dazzling array of stalactites in fantastical forms—resembling benevolent deities, charming Buddhas, loving couples gazing into the distance, the legendary Pillar of Heaven, the Sphinx, cascading stone waterfalls, hanging silver curtains, luminous jade screens, and towering stone pillars, each forming a unique scenic highlight. The cave boasts countless wonders, both named and unnamed, open to interpretation and sparking the imagination. These formations take on human, animal, or bird-like shapes, too numerous to describe or count. The attraction is located beneath a massive cliff halfway up Swan Ridge in the Divine Brush Cave Scenic Area.

As you step onto the platform in front of the cave, even before entering the entrance, you’ll be greeted by a cool breeze rich in negative ions wafting from the cave mouth. If you visit during the scorching summer, you’ll instantly feel refreshed and invigorated. In the depths of winter, thanks to the cave’s constant year-round temperature of around 18°C, you’ll be enveloped by a warm, comforting breeze.

Passing through the Heavenly Scripture Gate, the experience is truly extraordinary. Before you can fully take in the mystical aura of the “heavenly scriptures,” you’ll be amazed by the sight before you: a small bridge with flowing water beneath your feet, towering stone forests reaching skyward above, and a majestic jade pillar about ten meters high—so thick it would take two people to encircle it. The pillar, forceful in form, strikingly resembles a divine brush plunged upside-down into the center of the cave chamber, as if writing the heavenly scriptures in reverse with remarkable finesse. No wonder a learned scholar, upon seeing this, was left speechless and could only borrow a line from the ancient poet Li Shangyin to express his awe: “A great general wields a divine brush.”

Hence the name “Divine Brush Cave.” Upon closer inspection, this divine brush is ancient in color and spirit, having stood in the cave for hundreds of millions of years, absorbing the essence of the sun and moon and the energy of the cosmos. It is said to be highly spiritual, bestowing blessings upon all who revere it. Legend has it that those who sincerely worship this sacred brush will be rewarded: fools will gain wisdom, gentlemen will achieve success, scholars will master the art of writing, painters will create with miraculous skill, doctors will heal with miraculous hands, and officials will bring prosperity to their lands. Its efficacy is extraordinary, earning it the title of “The Finest Brush Under Heaven.” Truly, it is as if “emerging from the heavens to wield its brush, as if Ma Liang borrowed its power to create freely; presiding over an ink-scented realm where all is accomplished, a formation of brushes arrays strategies high.”
