City Square

The City Square of Holingol is located south of Zhelimu Street in the urban area. Designed by Shanghai Tongsheng Planning and Design Research Institute, it covers an area of 65,000 square meters with a total investment of 12 million yuan. The central administrative plaza, the main section, occupies 12,000 square meters and features a flagpole, fountains, and sculptures. Among them, the plaza sculpture serves as the symbol of the square, expressing the theme of strong economic and social development in this grassland energy industry tourism city through its simple, smooth, and harmonious design—much like a soaring swan. The entire square embodies the harmony between humans and nature, and its dynamic form reflects the vigorous momentum of Holingol’s rise. The open-air theater area is situated on the north side of the square, covering 400 square meters with a performance stage and 255 seats. A uniquely designed 160-meter-long artificial river winds through the square, adding another layer of charm. The square has now become an important venue for citizens to engage in leisure, entertainment, and open-air performances.
