Wengshan Poetry, Calligraphy and Painting Academy

The Wengshan Poetry, Calligraphy and Painting Academy is a non-profit public cultural institution voluntarily funded by renowned poet, calligrapher, and painter Mr. Liu Guoyu. Its mission is to promote China's outstanding traditional culture, embodying the ethos of "commitment to the Way, grounding in virtue, reliance on benevolence, and freedom in the arts." It has received strong support from the government during its construction, as well as generous help from esteemed members of society. Dr. Luo Deyin and Dr. Liu Chuanming from the School of Architecture at Tsinghua University provided their architectural design services pro bono. The academy is a seven-story building covering an area of over 2,000 square meters, with a construction area of nearly 6,000 square meters. Its exterior features modest and elegant blue brickwork, combining both modern and traditional elements. Standing by the banks of the Weng River, it presents a magnificent and impressive sight.

The Wengshan Poetry, Calligraphy and Painting Academy possesses professional functions including creation, collection, exhibition, research, training, and international cultural exchange. It serves as a creative hub for literature, painting, and calligraphy, a venue for the collection and preservation of artworks, a window showcasing regional culture, history, and current affairs, as well as a platform for international cultural exchange. The academy includes an office, a creation department, a group liaison department, an exhibition planning department, an academic research and publishing department, a collection department, a training department, and specialized functional facilities such as Lunjing Hall (academic lecture hall), creation studios, artist guesthouses, and internship bases for college and university students.
