Sanhu Nature Reserve

The Sanhu Nature Reserve is located at the border between Huoshi and Jalaid Banner, and has now been designated as the Sanhu Wetland Reserve by the Huoshi municipal government. The three lakes are respectively Huite Zha Hanuoer (Mongolian, translated as Boundary Lake), Dund Hanuoer (Mongolian, translated as Middle Lake), and Huite Hanuoer (Mongolian, translated as North Lake). Although the three lakes are not large in area, they are like three silver mirrors embedded in the vast green grassland. Due to their unique geographical location, when viewed from below, the lakes appear as three unevenly arranged basins of water, seemingly descending from the heavens. Every spring, flocks of swans, wild geese, grey cranes, pheasants, and thousands of other water birds fly here from the distant south to breed and inhabit. Here, one can witness the magnificent sight of hundreds of birds singing and playing in the water. If you're lucky, you might even see the spectacular mirage after the rain.
