Crane Flower Corridor

Delicate and elegant orchids bloom like beautiful sprites along both sides of Provincial Highway 245 in Xianhe Village, Jiangwei Town, Wengyuan, forming a vibrant flower corridor.

Since its planning and construction began in 2002, the Crane Flower Corridor has attracted more than 30 orchid businesses from outside the area, including from Taiwan, covering a total cultivation area of over 7,000 acres with approximately 400 varieties of both Chinese and foreign orchids. These orchids are sold to markets both domestically and internationally, making it the largest production base of Chinese orchids in the country. It has also won more than 70 awards at national orchid expos. The corridor area currently includes plans for facilities such as an orchid exhibition hall, tissue culture base, and holiday villas, as well as special activities like floral cuisine, floral wellness treatments, and floral beauty treatments. In 2007, Wengyuan orchids were voted one of Guangdong people’s favorite local specialties. From March 6–9, 2007, Wengyuan County successfully hosted the Fifth Guangdong Provincial Orchid Expo and the Cross-Strait Orchid Exposition.
