Dayuanwu Walled Village

Dayuanwu Walled Village is located in Dayuanwu Natural Village, Taiping Village, Xinjiang Town. It faces west with its back to the east and covers a construction area of approximately 2,000 square meters. Surrounded by mountains on all sides, the walled village was built in 1803 (the 8th year of the Jiaqing reign during the Qing Dynasty) and completed in 1823 (the 13th year of the Daoguang reign), taking a total of 31 years to construct. The front wall is straight, while the two rear corners curve into a circular shape. The front and rear walls feature two corner towers and a watchtower arranged in a "品"-shaped layout. The outer walls of the walled village were built using rammed gray sand and river stones, with a thickness of 0.4 to 0.5 meters. The door frames, thresholds, and door sills are all made from quarried granite, and a round stone block with a diameter of 0.4 meters and a thickness of 0.18 meters is placed in front of each threshold.
