Power Plant Tourism and Sightseeing Area

The overall goal of the electric power project of Huomei Hongjun Aluminum & Electricity Company is to build a captive power plant with a total installed capacity of 900,000 kilowatts. Phase I involves constructing power plants with 2×50,000-kilowatt units and 2×100,000-kilowatt units, with construction starting in 2003. Phase I has been completed with one 50,000-kilowatt unit and one 100,000-kilowatt unit generating electricity, and by the end of 2005, another 50,000-kilowatt unit and one 100,000-kilowatt unit will be generating electricity. Phase II involves constructing 2×150,000-kilowatt power plants.

The Inner Mongolia Power Investment Company's Huolinhe Power Plant has a construction scale of 4×300,000-kilowatt units. Construction commenced on August 18, 2004, with an investment of 40 million yuan completed that year, achieving a foundation break of zero meters. This year, the main structures such as the host rooms and chimneys for the 2×300,000-kilowatt units will be completed, along with equipment installation. Operation is planned to commence on May 1, 2006.

China Power Investment Corporation plans to build a 4×600,000-kilowatt power plant project, with a total investment of 10.6 billion yuan. The project will be constructed in two phases, with each phase consisting of 2×600,000-kilowatt units. Construction began on September 18, 2004, and that year saw the completion of engineering design, soil and water conservation assessment, environmental impact assessment, water resource demonstration, and feasibility study review. The preliminary review of the feasibility study report was completed on April 27, 2005.
