Changsha Dafu Mansion

Changsha Dafu Mansion is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Guangdong Province.

Changsha Dafu Mansion, located in Changsha Village, Longjie Town, Lianping County, was built during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. It was constructed by the ancestor of the Lai family, Lai Yunzhao, after he was granted the hereditary title of "Dafu" for three generations. The mansion faces south and is surrounded by hills on three sides. In front of its northern gate is a semicircular pond that remains full year-round. The internal layout of the mansion is well-organized with clearly defined spaces and square-shaped rooms. The patio between the front hall and the central hall, as well as the one between the central hall and the main hall, are exquisitely crafted. The inner walls of the patios feature intact stone carvings with delicate patterns, while the floors are paved with strip stones—each said to correspond to a room in the mansion. The decorative stone carvings, wood carvings, and painted artworks depict motifs such as flowers, animals, and historical figures. Their unique shapes, lifelike forms, and exquisite craftsmanship are truly remarkable.
