The former site of the headquarters of the Longhe Squad, Dongjiang Overseas Chinese Anti-Japanese Service Corps, is a cultural heritage site of Lianping County, a classic red tourism destination, and a patriotic education base.

The former site of the headquarters of the Longhe Squad, Dongjiang Overseas Chinese Anti-Japanese Service Corps, is located at Chahuerwu in Chaxincun Village, Youxi Town, Lianping County, approximately 500 meters from the Youxi Town government.

The Dongjiang Overseas Chinese Anti-Japanese Service Corps was an anti-Japanese salvation organization formed by overseas Chinese from various Southeast Asian countries. To fully utilize this public anti-Japanese salvation group, in January 1939, the Dongjiang Special Committee established the “Dongjiang Overseas Chinese Anti-Japanese Service Corps” (abbreviated as “Dong Tuan”) in Danshui, Huiyang District, with its headquarters in Huizhou City. Work teams were also dispatched to various counties to carry out anti-Japanese activities. In late November 1939, over 20 members of the Longhe Squad of the Dongjiang Overseas Chinese Anti-Japanese Service Corps set off from Laolong and stationed in Zhongxin and Dahhu, setting up their headquarters at Chahuerwu. The squad leader Yan Shuomin, members Huang Min, liaison Huang Keping, and others were also stationed here.

The primary mission of the Longhe Squad in Lianping was to help develop Communist Party members in the area and establish Party organizations. After arriving in Lianping, they systematically and methodically carried out various tasks. In the areas of Youxi, Zhongxin, and Dahhu, they organized evening schools for the public, literacy classes for women and children, and utilized methods such as putting up wall posters, teaching revolutionary songs, and performing street plays to promote anti-Japanese salvation activities. Due to clear objectives and effective approaches, this work progressed very smoothly. Within just a few months, they identified and trained a group of progressive youths, and by April 1940, they had made breakthroughs at Datang Primary School in Zhongxin, recruiting the first Communist Party member in Lianping County, Wu Hongsheng. This marked a new chapter in the history of the Lianping Party and laid a solid foundation for the growth and development of the Party organization in Lianping.

In July 2010, it was designated as a key cultural relics protection unit by the Lianping County Government. Renovations were carried out in the second half of 2010. In May 2011, a memorial monument was erected by the Lianping County Party Committee and Government. In June 2011, it was announced as a patriotic education base by the Heyuan Municipal Party Committee and Government.
