The Niuxing Path Battle Site is a classic red tourism attraction.

The Niuxing Path Battle Site is located in Niuxing Path, Fengpan Village, Xishan Town, Lianping County, near National Highway 105.

In the spring of 1947, the Kuomintang government crazily implemented the "Three Levies"—causing great suffering among the people. At that time, Ye Shaoxiong led the Flying Tigers team of the Jiangbei People's Self-Defense Corps, operating in areas such as Ruan'keng and Dongshui, and detained Zhang Shaohuai, the deputy captain of the Xidong Township Militia, to force the Xidong Township Office of the Kuomintang to abandon the "Three Levies." This action provoked a siege of the Flying Tigers by over 200 men, including the "Bandit Suppression Brigade" of the Lianping County Government led by Zhang Hanxuan and the Xidong Township Militia led by Township Chief Ye Shaochen. After the siege failed to capture them, the enemy left He Neng, the captain of the county militia’s squadron, with over 20 men, and around 30 members of the Xidong Township Militia stationed at the Xidong Township Office and Ruan’keng Street, attempting to annihilate the Flying Tigers.

In the early hours of March 1, Zheng Dadong was ordered to lead over 80 members of the Jiangbei People's Self-Defense Corps to arrive in Ruan'keng, concealing themselves in the deep mountains of Zhuzaikeng to support the Flying Tigers in foiling the enemy's scheme. After discussion between Zheng Dadong and Ye Shaoxiong, it was decided to set up an ambush on Niuxing Path in Xishan to lure and eliminate the enemy. Before 9 a.m. the next day, the troops entered the ambush positions along two routes while dispatching three soldiers to collect taxes from passing merchants at the Zhichai Stone section to bait the enemy. Shortly after 9 a.m., upon hearing the news, Ye Shaochen and He Neng immediately led over 60 militiamen and members of the militia to chase the tax collectors. The enemy split into two groups; when one group entered our ambush zone, three guns belonging to Ye Shaoxiong, Zhong Peigun, and others fired simultaneously at the enemy just a few meters away, startling them into fleeing. At this moment, intense gunfire erupted as the Flying Tigers launched a fierce attack and charged downward. After a short battle, one enemy was killed, five were wounded, two were captured, and five guns were seized. Another group of enemies attempted to take control of Niuxing Path. Zeng Chihui and Xie Tang led their forces, leveraging the terrain and fighting while rested, unleashing heavy fire on the enemy troops and killing their machine gunner. Seeing the situation deteriorate, the remaining enemies fled into a temple on Niuxing Path to hold out. To eliminate the enemy swiftly, Zheng Dadong ordered Xie Tang and Zeng Chihui to storm the earthen temple. Unable to hold their ground, the enemies fled in disarray back to the township office. Our forces pursued them, killing six, wounding over ten, capturing six, and seizing over ten guns, one machine gun, and over 100 rounds of ammunition.

In May 2011, a memorial stele was erected for protection by the Lianping County Committee and County Government.
