The site of the radio station of the Guangdong-Gan Border Detachment and the editorial office of the "Guangdong-Gan Daily" is a classic red tourism attraction.

The site of the radio station of the Guangdong-Gan Border Detachment and the editorial office of the "Guangdong-Gan Daily" is located at Jiulian Dangan Beach, 55 kilometers northeast of Liangping County. In July 1945, in response to evolving circumstances, the CCP’s Houdong Special Committee decided to establish a radio station to strengthen communication and coordination with the central leadership and higher authorities. Initially, the radio station was set up in the home of Huang Zhongqiang, an underground party member in Huangcun, Heyuan, but due to enemy attacks, it was later relocated to Wuhua, Qingzhou, and other areas. In February 1948, as the Kuomintang launched its third “mopping-up” operation in the Jiulian region, the CCP Jiulian Working Committee moved the staff and equipment of the news and liaison radio stations stationed in Jiulian to Dangan Beach. By June of that year, the personnel of both stations had regrouped at Dangan Beach and, under extremely challenging conditions, successfully completed their telecommunications liaison missions.

The "Guangdong-Gan Daily" was the official newspaper of the CCP Jiulian Regional Committee and the Guangdong-Gan Border Detachment (later renamed the Second Detachment of the Dongjiang Column). It was first published in August 1948 and ceased publication in October 1949. Zhong Junxian, commander of the Guangdong-Gan Border Detachment, once praised the newspaper as the “spiritual weapon in the struggle against the enemy.” On August 15, 1948, the newspaper published its inaugural issue, reporting on the establishment of the Guangdong People’s Liberation Army Guangdong-Gan Border Detachment in Shangwan, Heyuan. This was like a spring thunderbolt that quickly spread across the Jiulian region, boosting morale and shocking the Kuomintang authorities. Subsequently, reporters from the newspaper fearlessly ventured into battle zones multiple times to conduct interviews and wrote many compelling battlefield dispatches, which were widely welcomed by soldiers and civilians alike. During the war years, the newspaper office often moved along with the troops, leaving behind the site of the "Guangdong-Gan Daily" editorial office at Dangan Beach.

In May 2011, a memorial stele was erected for protection by the Liangping County Party Committee and County Government.
